A security system used to protect sensitive data at homesafe.com has been breached, and some users have been notified.
The system, Honeywell Security, is used by millions of homebuyers.
The security system was discovered by users of the homebuyer protection software HomeSafe and it has been notified to affected users.
“The system has been affected by a security issue and has been taken offline temporarily,” Honeywell said in a statement.
Users who have been affected can contact Honeywell’s Customer Support team.
Honeywell is also advising customers to check their email account and their login details, as they may have been accessed by an external party.
Honeyweld has said it is working to identify and fix the problem and will provide an update in due course.
HomeSafe said it would provide free patches for users of Honeywell HomeSafe to update their accounts.
This story has been updated to reflect Honeywell and HomeSafe have confirmed the issue and a fix is being offered.
